Yeah I didn't know where to put all those extra vowels either, but one of the combinations eventually worked.

Having long-since exhausted the official supply of archived Connections, I've turned to the streets (fan-made puzzles) to get my fix. These are decidedly bad. The groupings are tenuous, or based on spelling/pronunciation*, or built around specialist knowledge, or rely on outright spelling/comprehension errors. And the authors love love love trying to trick you with red herrings and overfilled categories that have to be solved by process of elimination. But a consequence of spending so much time working through these is that I find the NYT ones very easy now.

*pronunciation is especially aggravating since it varies by region

Interesting Dave. I have other games where I've played alternatively made games, making the original easier, but connections still gets me sometimes, as it did today.
