I saw that filming will resume in September. I get the gut feeling this TV series will be based on PJ's fanfic more than the Tolkien books.

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

I don't know one single actor named on that page - though one looks vaguely familiar, but I'm really bad with faces. And names. So.. yeah.
The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.
"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

I don't watch many movies or much TV, so, no surprise that none of them look familiar to me.

I don't know who any of these actors are, but there are some good looking guys there.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

I wonder what role he will be playing? (I'd never heard of him, which doesn't mean much as I don't watch television or many movies, but I don't think he is at all well known in the U.S.)Alatar wrote:Lenny Henry? Seriously?

Official Amazon Synopsis
Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness. Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

If I want to see a story that begins in a time of relative peace and deals with the re-emergence of evil, I can just watch the news.

‘I was lucky to be sent to a Welsh language school’ says new Lord of the Rings star
This could be meaningless, but I still find it to be encouraging.

Re: Lord of the Rings series!?
I doubt we ever will. It isn't quite clear to me whether he chose to leave because he disagreed with the direction Amazon went with the character, or was forced out because Amazon didn't like what he was doing with the character.
