I saw this picture on Facebook in a completely non-Tolkien context, but to me this is the best representation of Yavanna that I have ever seen.

Even though the game itself doesn't interest me much, this is kinda cool:

If you are keen to pick it up, there's an interesting edition of the game to be made available, and it's called the Precious Edition. Setting you back $69.99, it comes with the game, an Emotes Pack, Lore Compendium, Original Soundtrack, and Art Exhibition.

But the really cool part about this edition? It comes with the Sindarin voice-over pack. This pack can be used to change the game's language into Grey-Elven, one of the many languages spoken by elves, particularly those in Beleriand. These were elves of the Third Clan who remained behind after the Great Journey. Their language became estranged from that of their kin who sailed over the sea, and derives from an earlier eleven language.

It is a rather lovely language created by Tolkien, and is mainly based on Welsh - one of Tolkien's favorite languages due to how it sounds when spoken.

This design is a great reminder that, as dramatic as PJ could get at times, he still was not dramatic enough. They got the runes on Anduril, and the shining cold in the light of the moon, and Aragorn being a drama queen about not sheathing it until the final battle. (Althoug not as dramatic as Strider going around with the broken Narsil. I'm glad PJ didn't try to tackle that.)

Really? I think thats absolutely dreadful artwork. Looks like Idris Elba's Heimdall, not Aragorn with Anduril. The sword is preposterous.

The runes are wrong, which I realized about an hour after I posted the link.

I am very happy with Viggo as Aragorn, but if they ever need to cast Aragorn again, Idris Elba would be a good choice. He got that combination of quiet dignity and complete badassery.

Related, someone said recently that Viggo is as old now as McKellen was when FOTR came out.

And in other adaptation news, I guess people aren't very happy with the Gollum game?

Wait. Are the runes wrong?

The Sword of Elendil was forged anew by Elvish smiths, and on its blade was traced a device of seven stars set between the crescent Moon and the rayed Sun, and about them was written many runes;

Does Tolkien refer to Elven script, which I assumed was used, as runes elsewhere? Gandalf uses a rune on Weathertop, iirc.

I quite like it, though the hobbits are perhaps a bit Hildebrant-y. One of the few takes I've seen that actually depicts a balrog as wrapped in shadow and "of man-shape, maybe" rather than as some sort of clearly-visible horned demon.
