Amazing! When we were last out that way we stayed at a nice place just outside of the park, but it certainly didn't have that view! How far in advance did you have to book, if I may ask?

I'm on a mailing list with a travel agency that offers 3 nites for the price of two, for February, if you book in October. This is the second time I've tried it. It may be habit forming ;-) Of course, I may not be as thrilled on Thursday, when mixed rain and snow are predicted.

Last pic of the day. Tomorrow, I will break out the real camera (just using my phone today). But you won't see those until I get home to my laptop and card reader.

A great place to be right now.

Are you staying in Yosemite Lodge? It's a lot easier to get reservations in February than in July!

 Awesome! I love the water/waves.

It's starting to warm up here. Hopefully we'll get our bikes out in the not too distant future. We still have a bit of snow on the ground but it 's going to get warm tomorrow & it will melt. We saw a group of about 75 turkeys on our walk today and I didn't even think to get a photo. We just enjoyed watching them (and counting them) as they ran with their young ones into the woods.

These shots are from Hampstead Heath. If I had to live in London, Hampstead would be my pick. You can wander for ages in the Heath and never run out of trails or greenspace. The actual neighbourhood is nice too - very diverse, I heard a lot of languages wandering around, even a couple that I couldn't identify. Paradise for a language geek like me.

There's something special about this time of year. It's like the whole world is in waiting for spring to burst forth.

I believe that it is a red shouldered hawk, but honestly, I am very bad at identification.

ETA: Looking at more pictures, you may well be right.
