Mornings wouldn't suck so badly if they came later in the day.
Re: Nature Pics
Wow. How big is it?
And how are you feeling, Imp?

Re: Nature Pics
Wow. That's almost surreal. The article states it is 80 meters tall.
Hubby, who has worked in forestry and on high transmission electric lines, will find that fascinating.

Did you take that picture? And who are those people at the top and half-way up, and how did they get there?

Re: Nature Pics
Still coughing a bit and fatigue hits hard after any exertion slept for 3 hrs after a 4 km walk yesterday) but feeling much better and returning to work for a few hours tomorrow.
I believe the tree is taller than 80m; full story is in the story I linked to.
And NOT my photo! The tiny people in the tree are the team that located it in the Tasmanian wilderness and measured and photographed it to ensure it is properly registered and safeguarded.

4km walk - so soon! Take it easy….
Glad you are feeling better.
I hadn’t even noticed the tiny people. That is just surreal.

Impish, I've seen recommendations to take it easier than appears necessary during covid recovery, because of the risk of heart complications. I realize 4km isn't much for you, but be careful, yeah?
His philosophy was a mixture of three famous schools -- the Cynics, the Stoics and the Epicureans -- and summed up all three of them in his famous phrase, 'You can't trust any bugger further than you can throw him, and there's nothing you can do about it, so let's have a drink."

Yes, please take care of yourself Imp.
The article isn't very clear on how tall the tree is but states, in regards to attempting to photograph it, ""The biggest challenge … is the fact that it's 80m tall," he says." Doing the Meters>Yards conversion, that would be about 88/89 yards or 267ft? (I'm terrible at maths so forgive me if that's wrong). That's a very tall tree.
I really appreciate you sharing the photo and article Impy.
The words 'Gum tree' takes me back to the childhood Kookaburra song.

Oh my! What gorgeous photos!
Our bikes are in the rafters for the year and we have to settle for walks in the neighborhood. It's hard to beat California for scenery. Hawaii does a pretty good job..

Re: Nature Pics
Thank you, both! I was pretty surprised that the sky looked like that at about 3:30 p.m., long before sunset.

Re: Nature Pics
I love those pictures of the sun over the water! I've always liked the idea of living somewhere near the ocean (or a large enough lake) with views like that.
