"Roswell" ( I always thought it had two s'ssss's'ssss it is hard to stop spelling the plural of s :P ) seems a good guess to me too but we have to wait on Alatar!

How many do we have unguessed now? ( Wampus - I looked at yours for so long and didn't get it :P )

But neither Roswell or X-files is exactly the subject matter of the shows ... maybe "Invasion" would qualify there if it's about an alien invasion.

Tosh got it: 4 Weddings and a Funeral.

I thought Alatar's first one ( ) was Lost, but I see now that he meant the second one was the TV show.

In that case, I vote for Invasion. It was :( one of my favorite shows until it was recently cancelled. :rage:

Of course the second one could also be a book and movie: Kidnapped!
Take my hand, my friend. We are here to walk one another home.

Clue time.

First one is a movie with Michael Caine and Ben Kingsley.

Second one was presented by Steven Spielberg. And it's really, really obvious. (And it's not Invasion, X-Files or Roswell)

Ah! The joys of IMDB!

I didn't know the film so I feel I was cheating but Alatar's first is 'Without a Clue', a Sherlock Holmes story.

Still don't know the TV series though.

Having solved two I feel I can get away with another.
Film, two words:

Alatar's TV series is 'Taken'.

Now will someone have a crack at mine *whimper*

Tosh's, at a stretch, is The Omen.

No, not The Omen, Liddy.

There, there, dry your tears. I did try but it was awfully hard for a bear of little brain. Give us a tiny clue but not an IMDBle one.

Taken is the correct answer! Well done Lidless!

Ok Liddy, I know its a TV series, not a Movie, but the closest I can guess is:

The Last of the Summer Wine. (I know, it's a stretch)

Joins Tosh in asking for a clue

Now I don't feel so bad about not getting Alatar's two, since I've never heard of them! Steven Spielberg must "present" a lot of things, just sayin'!

Lidless, you can whimper all you want, but that won't make the rest of us any smarter. ;)

Really? Taken was one of the big "Event" productions of the last few years. That years "Lost" if you follow me...

Oh, I vaguely remember it now that I see that promotional stuff! But I don't know that I'd call it a huge event in the US, anyway ... I suppose to some it was. That's the nature of charades ... my Twelve Angry Men was easy, if you've heard of it! But Lost is on a major network and I watch it, or did before I fell behind, and Taken was on cable, and I didn't watch Taken so it just slipped out of my consciousness! I'll have to catch up on Lost when season two comes out on DVD.

OK, it's a Hollywood movie set in China, and was nominated for Best Pic, but didn't win.

Is mine the last one then?

To recap. A film, two words, 3 syllables then 2 syllables

Yov posted this while I was splitting the thread. I'm posting it here as a quote, but he can repost it if he wishes so that it will have his avatar and I'll delete this quote.
