The most Russian news you will see today.
Out of all the packages of Ukrainian loot Russian marauders have sent back home, two thirds have been stolen en route.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

When soldiers come home with plundered goods from a 'special military operation' whose purpose was to 'rescue/take humanitarian aid to the people of Ukraine who are subject to Nazi's' you would think that would give the Russian people pause as to what they are being told by their government.

Unbelievable!

I was listening to a video last night that the editor of the Economist (a British paper) Zanny Minton Beddoes did with a correspondent in the U.S. after she got the chance to personally interview Zelensky. (I don't have the actual link but instead, here is the Zelensky interview in full.)

She said the one thing he was totally unable to comprehend was how Putin seemed to treat the Russian troops like so many 'logs to be thrown on the fire.' He pegs Russian losses at 15,000 soldiers and counting. :(

When the night has been too lonely, and the road has been too long,
And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

Russia has a long history of trying to solve its military problems by throwing huge amounts of manpower at them haphazardly with no regard for losses. Sometimes it's worked, sometimes it's gotten them a revolution.

Historically, Russia* was successful at repelling invaders, but pants at invading themselves.

* For the value of Russian Empire or USSR that included Ukraine, as well as other countries. Modern Russian Federation likes to posture as the lone heir of Soviet achievements, such as they were, when it was only one of many players.

I was going to post this in the WTF thread but since I'm here. Just follow the instructions.

I don't think the UK is particularly fussed.

Mr. Frelga's guide to reading Russian propaganda is, any threats they make, they lack the ability to carry out. Anything they deny, they absolutely are planning to do.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov made a statement today denying that putin has any serious health issues. So the rumors that putin is dead and has been replaced by one or more body doubles are probably true. :spin:

Today marks eight years since Boris Nemtsov, the last leader of opposition to Putin in Russia, was murdered in front of Kremlin in Moscow.
