Stacey Abrams was the Minority Leader of the Georgia House of Representatives and the Democratic candidate for governor of Georgia in 2018. She impressed a lot of people (including, very much, me) and lost a very close race that was ripe with voter suppression and other issues (the GOP victor was himself the Secretary of State in charge of the election at the time!). She was strongly encouraged to run for one of the Senate seats from Georgia in this election but instead she has concentrated on encouraging voter participation, particularly among African-Americans in Georgia, and deserves much of the credit for Biden's likely pivotal victory in the state in this election. She is definitely a rising star in the U.S. Democratic Party.

I know nothing of "Selena Montgomery" other than what Frelga posted.

Inanna, I'm reading The Stormlight Chronicles by Brandon Sanderson, the series Alatar recommended some time ago (thank you Al ).

Hidden text.

A complex, deeply thought-out world and vivid characters. I ocassionally have to speed read through battle scenes, but the interwoven story threads are compelling and his writing is excellent.

The sequel just came out!!!

I'm reading J. K. Rowling's new book, The Ickabog. It's obviously written for children, but it's pretty dark. No magic in it (so far), but it is set in a mythical kingdom. Adults will love it too.

Rowling had put it on her website a chapter a day (for free) before it was published. I enjoyed it.

I recently finished Juniper and Wise Child (which were gifted to me by the generous Elengil). I enjoyed both very much. Wise Child is the better book - more complex, more immersive, more vivid.
