Architectural Photographs
Thanks Cem, and Jny!
Cem, I'm thinking you should come back to visit DC sometime in the near future. There's always a place for you in my dorm room! It's not very big, but it's there. I really want to see you again sometime soon! And I would love to see the pictures that you would take downtown.
Jny, thank you. My dad was a professional photographer before he switched jobs, and I'd like to think that I learned at least a little bit about photography from him. But my pictures couldn't hold a candle to some of the other photographers at the board!! Everyone is so talented.

I love the contrast of the plants and the buildings—each their own version of an orderly upward striving.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Actually, that's the inside of a former shoe factory. Those were ramps from the factory floors to the warehouse floors, down which the shoes slid. It does look as if it should make music, though.
It's now the City Museum. A place that demonstrates why artists shouldn't be allowed to own buildings.

I've already seen Cem's photos elsewhere, but they never stop to amaze me. This one is my absolute favourite, and if I saw a poster made from it in an art poster shop, I'd definitely want it on my wall:
And Ax's photos make me want to travel to NZ.

See the world as your self.
Have faith in the way things are.
Love the world as your self;
then you can care for all things.

and it's nice to be reminded of our mini 'meet'.
I should break out my own camera, and take some photos, I was down the South Island end October but it was a 'flying visit', still I managed 2 hours at Te Papa while I waited for the ferry sailing ,
and I took but never used my camera, except for a couple of shots at the Salt lakes.
I esp love the "vase' photo, the window on Wellington and' lil red
da TIGG is back and bouncin'

They're actually all from the same building...which is a library, as you guessed. The first three are from the newer wing of it....
