Lots of hummingbirds at my place, probably because my husband put up a large number of feeders and keeps complaining that he has to fill them every few days, but he actually loves seeing them. So far, all Anna's Hummingbirds.

I feed hummingbirds and we get a lot of ruby-throated but WOW! those photos, narya! Do you use a tripod and a remote clicker?

They are so used to us coming and going on the back porch that I just stand out there with my telephoto in hand, and take pics as close as 5 feet away. Sometimes they buzz me to go away and leave them alone. Also, if I take 20 pics, one of them will be in focus. That's the one I post. ;)

Remember the days of film? As in worrying about wasting film?

Yes, in fact I remember the day I walked into my local camera shop to get a set of developed photos. The guy behind the counter said "I see you finally got auto-focus". Yup, it was that bad. But now I could look forward to 24 mostly in focus photos per roll instead of 2 per roll.

I've gotten to the point where I take up to 400 digital pictures per day now. The tedious part is reviewing them all to get a handful worth keeping. But pixels are cheap, so I'll keep snapping.

Yeah, the bad thing about old film cameras is not knowing you missed or blew the shot until after developing the film. The last 2 good cameras I bought were so easily ruined by moisture I'm nervous to buy another as they are pretty pricey.

We saw a young eagle today but my camera phone just doesn't cut it for that type of photo.

Very neat!

I see our local deer so much that I don't even bother with photos. But sometimes they get especially cute.
