Nice to 'see' you here Eldy. I still play all of the games but I don't usually put them here because I don't know who else plays. I thought one of the Hurdle words (I think the 3rd one) was a really weird word to use in a puzzle like this/I didn't realize it was considered a regular word

Thanks, Rose! I honestly wasn't sure if the word you mention was a real word, either, but it did come to mind rather than being a total shot in the dark based on trying to combine the remaining letters, so I assume I've heard it before, even if I couldn't remember the meaning.

The word sounds like its meaning. I didn't think it was so much a part of the common vernacular that it would be in the dictionary--but it was.

The dictionary claims it is from the 1960's!! A short form of 'grotesque' as in unpleasant/disgusting.

I finished my second 10x10 Squardle. This one was much easier but it still took me about a week.

I used to use that '60s word all the time... mostly in the 60s But I guess I never wrote it or read it in print. It was for something in desperate need of a cleaning. I still use it occasionally, and at least my kids know what it means, having heard it from me.

I've been happily playing sudoku every day, because I can use that with the numeric part of my brain, while listening to an audio book with the verbal part of my brain. And when I do sudoku without reading or other distractions, it's almost a kind of meditation - relaxing and mildly dopamine inducing. Word games, on the other hand, are more stress inducing.

In case you care to share my addiction, search for Simon Tatham's Puzzles in the Google Play Store. The "Solo" game in this collection is the equivalent of Sudoku, without the trademark issue. I find
the 3x3 basic layout relaxing and satisfying. The 3x3 unreasonable layout is... unreasonable.
