Re: MythLore
That's outstanding!!!
The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.
"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

Thanks, you guys.
Eldy, I'd be happy to send you a copy by email if you would like, though it should be available online within the next week or so (I think).

After that, I'm most curious to see the article about Shakespeare and Tolkien. There are a couple possible allusions to Shakespeare's work in The Lord of the Rings that I've never seen anyone mention before, and I wonder if they'll turn up here.

Re: MythLore
I'm also very curious about that one! And of course I am interested in seeing where Verlyn has gone with her piece on Earendel, after being very fascinated by the Tolkien Society presentation that she made, as well as Kristine Larsen's piece on Tolkien and the Indo-European Divine Twins.N.E. The latest issue of MythLore is now available online at https://dc.swosu.edu/mythlore/
My paper can be downloaded at Círdan the Shipwright: Tolkien’s Bodhisattva Who Brings Us to the Other Shore. For those who read an earlier draft, there are some significant differences, most significantly in the last sentence of the paper, which is based on a suggestion made to me by Beth and which I really feel ties the whole thing together.
Eldy, I'm still interested in hearing your thoughts if you read it! (scirocco, thank you for sharing your thoughts with me!)

I read it again and liked it. I didn’t understand the last sentence, though.

Re: MythLore
Which part do you not understand, the part about Círdan bringing us to the Other Shore by his example, or the part about the Other Shore being right here?
