Re: Nature Pics
At Oceanside Beach, I was struck by the interesting patterns of the sand, water, and sunlight.

Re: Nature Pics
Thank you Rose and Inanna. My secret is to look for unusual patterns, take about 500 pictures, then winnow them out to just a few with the optometrist question "so which is better, 1 or 2.....and now, 1 or 2....".
I take these with the express purpose of using them as desktop pictures for my work and home laptop. I rotate them every 30 minutes, and get to have a little sigh of nostalgia each time a new one pops up.
And I'm a Like junkie on Facebook. What can I say.

Wow, narya, these are gorgeous.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Re: Nature Pics
Thank you! Now that I have finally figured out how to post pics here, I'll post more. My camera takes 10 MB pics, so I upload them to my laptop, open them in Paint, click Resize, enter 20% vertical and 20% horizontal, and save_as to another folder. That seems to result in a size that is not too large to upload or too expansive to fit properly.

Re: Nature Pics
That's what I have to do to post pics here, too.
And those really are nice, narya!
This one I didn't have to resize, though. The eagle was so high up in the tree at the end of our driveway that by the time I zoomed in and cropped out everything but the bird, the resulting pic was quite small. This was yesterday at lunch. The local eagles really seem to like that tree. Or maybe it's just that that branch is such a perfect perch? I dunno.
It didn't like me taking its picture. It's about to launch off the branch there.

Re: Nature Pics
Since I'm going through old photos, check this out: looking out from the Island of Inismór beside the fort. Those of us that were there that day will never forget it.

Mornings wouldn't suck so badly if they came later in the day.

Re: Nature Pics
Insanely beautiful!
Of course, since it's Australia, I'm picturing snakes and balrogs behind each beautiful tree.

Re: Nature Pics
I have a vid of a self-effacing brown snake who crossed the track during that walk that I'd be happy to share.

Also, it's not the balrogs you need to worry about, it's the warrior bullants.

OK.. despite the beauty there's a reason I've steered clear of Oz..
