Crap. I got lost in the depths of RP Repository and Totally neglected this place. My apologies Narya.
Let's see if I can get my act together....

Re: Protest Songs
It's a 'protest' song by a white racist, insurrectionist 'artist' championing all things Trumpism and the modern republican party. The fact it is a #1 song says all I need to know about anyone who likes this song, or continues to vote republican. I do think the title of the song should be 'Try This ...

I got a start on it but I'm having some few interruptions at the moment. I'll finish up my post when things quiet down here.

Roadhouse on the Old North Road
OOC: This is just another 'Inn Starter' I used on a website abandoned long ago. It's another 4th Age year 1 setting on the road between Bree and Fornost. Being it was estimated to be 100 miles between Bree and Arnor, this inn was halfway between them. Things are still deserted for the most part but...

Re: About The Forsaken Inn
Snowdog, do you have a link to a backstory for the two sisters? No I don't. I think they were a collab-creation for an RP that never got off the ground on the old Arwen Undomiel board circa 2016. I went back to look to see if any character info was posted, and after digging through pages of spambot...

Re: TV obsessions—come on, admit it!
Just watched Transatlantic on Netflix over two nights, and thought it was really well done for a historical period setting.
Very 'Casablanca-ish' due to the same timeframe, and they did borrow off the movie some as well. Seven episodes well worth watching.

Re: About The Forsaken Inn
Sure, this can suffice as the OOC thread and general chatter. Narya, love your post! I'm kind of hoping the Inn would be similar to the Prancing Pony of old TORc fame where adventures and such were spawned. I'll be introducing a character shortly. I will admit my starter is a rough concoction of ol...

The Battle of the Fords of Isen looks a bit rough but I give them props for effort and they looked like they had fun making this.

Re: Good music and other good stuff on youtube and Facebook
I like the Beach Boys and the Kingston Trio versions, but my first exposure to this song was by The Brothers Four when dad got their Big Folk Hits album when he bought a new console stereo in 1963.

The Inn by the Side of the Road
The Old Forsaken Inn A day's ride east of Bree stood an old inn that was likely built in the hey-day of the Kingdom of Arnor. The inn had sat dormant and empty for so many years that the name of The Forsaken was given it. Strider and the Rangers of the North used that name when they would at times ...

Re: The Calenders of Middle Earth
(18 years later) In revisiting this, I realized I never credited the interactive calendar (which works quite good these days) on Encyclopedia of Arda for a lot of the information. The initial layout was originally on a Middle Earth Rangers forum back in these days (now defunct). I have used this na...

Re: About The Forsaken Inn
We could run a poll to see what time period is the most popular. Another option would be to have an inn that's not fixed in time, to allow for the broadest range of characters. I'm trying to remember which of my old RPs wound up in Tharbad. :) Good times! I'm more inclined to just have people start...

Re: About The Forsaken Inn
An inn is always a good place to test-run characters and have interactions. Some of the best RPs I was in on oldTORc were started at an inn. There was an Inn RP started on the 'new TORc forum that was getting traction before it got shut down. I have a number of described inns in my archive that cou...

Hanasían - Recollections of a Dúnedain Ranger
(This is a series of shorts I wrote in the ten years since I created Hanasían in the TORc roleplay thread 'Shadow Over Arnor' in 2000. it has been revised and revised again, and I have worked details in from various roleplays he had been involved in over that time. There has been substantial charac...

Re: The all too early Season Two thread (possible spoilers)
This was an interesting read , especially with the numbers that determine whether S1 was a success. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power started setting records before a frame of it had been released when word came out of New Zealand last year that its eight-episode first season cost a record ...
