Ah! You see, I haven't read any of those books. I'm not real big on fantasy.

(I don't consider Tolkien to be fantasy.)

No, I just don't wan't to predict Dodger victories over the Gigantes.

 A switch-pitcher facing a switch-hitter could make a fine Abbott and Costello routine. Against Nebraska last year, a switch-hitter came to the plate right-handed, prompting Venditte to switch to his right arm, which caused the batter to move to the left-hand batter’s box, with Venditte switc...

My second prediction of the year is that Piazza will end the year with more RBIs then Thomas.

Glaurung is described as the "father" of dragons, so one might consider that subsequent dragons were "bred" from him. But (other then in Shrek) I've never heard of a female dragon. 8)

Giants avoided a three game sweep. Barry almost hit another first inning homer, settling for a long run-scoring double. Matt Morris pitched six strong innings, and the much reviled Armando Benitez got the save (albeit somewhat shaky). Meanwhile, Daisuke Matsuzaka looks like the real deal, striking o...

:rotfl: (I had the same thought, Mahima).

I just watched the trailer again, and saw another different image that I hadn't seen, this one of Húrin bound to his chair of stone.

Wowsa!

There is new web page up, including a "trailer" for the book. (Who ever heard of a trailer for a book?) http://tolkien.hcp-uk.co.uk/thechildrenofhurin.aspx Note, I watched the trailer more then five times, and it was different the first five times I watched, with some different images (inc...

I cannot tell a lie; it was I who first came up with it, but I was just trying to save Anthy from having to type out "I agree with Prim" over and over.

Yes, the NY Barnes & Noble copies are pre-signed. Lee will be at Waterstone's in London that day. The only announced appearances of Lee that I have seen are in the UK.

I'm going to go out on a limb and predict a Bonds home run this evening. It didn't take long for me to be proven correct. Bottom of the first inning, Bonds hits number 735. I amaze myself sometimes. Edit: Cross-posted with Fara. Or some Giant wins. In a theme that I think will be repeated al...

I don't know, Prim. But at the Children of Húrin FAQ at the Tolkien Library that I have quoted before ( http://www.tolkienlibrary.com/press/Children-of-Hurin-FAQ.htm ) it states: Q: Will Christopher Tolkien be doing any signings? Christopher Tolkien will regrettably be unavailable to attend any sign...

Oh yes, I meant to answer that question. For those who are wondering, Stu Miller was relief pitcher for the Giants most famous for being blown off the mound by the wind at Candlestick Park during the 1961 all-star game.

Don't get me wrong. I agree that the system is broken.

One thing I wanted to point out that Obama claims (though I don't think that this can be verified) that unlike Clinton, he does not accept contributions from PACs or lobbyists. If that is true, that makes a big difference to me.
