Wow, that's almost as many as Jeter hit into last round! Oh, TeeHee, Faramond. Very amusing. Actually the number of Jeter GDP is 3 . Still too many. See http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/baseball/mlb/players/5406/ for his PS stats. Very disappointing. But he wasn't the only player with a spectacular...

Who would have possibly thought, even a few weeks ago, that the Rockies would be going to the World Series? What they are doing is absolutely unprecedented. Congratulations Rockies! it is amazing, and quite exciting to watch. Won 21 out of their last 22 games. Of course, what with parity and all, (...

O My! 13-6. Series tied 1-1  Thank you Curt Schilling and Eric Gagne, thank you Lopez for that lovely wild, run-scoring, pitch and your equally lovely 36.0 ERA. Thank you Jon Lester for the 2 ER, the rust, and your 27.0 ERA. Thank you Trot Nixon! Thank you Cleveland bullpen! I enjoyed all 5...

 I'm in mourning. It would be sporting of me to administer the old *tip of the cap* to the Indians. But I can't. I'm just so sad to see the dynasty finally die after years of crumbling. Who knows what will happen now. Joe is likely gone. Alex, Posada, Mo. So who on earth can I root for now? Not...

Not a good beginning. The bats better wake up or we'll be the LDS fourth team swept. Better get Hughes ready. Oh wait. Joe pitched him for 2 innings in the first game  I really wish they would shut up about Alex. W00t! A hit! edit: never mind. Another Jorge DP. This feels like a forgone conclu...

Home tream announcers are ...well homers. They tend to focus more on their team and get excited when that team is doing well. A good national broadcaster can do that for both teams. Absolutely! Give me Paul O'Neill, Ken Singleton, Jim Kaat for the Yanks. I even like listening to Remy and Orisillio....

Guess I'm just hard to please :P No, I don't think they are good announcers. They are not *just calling the game* there is editorializing going on and I find it irritating and perhaps I am flabbergasted by the way the Angels *appear* to be going down without a fight. Not that I'm an Angels fan, mind...

Oh and Wang looks like the game 4 starter on short rest. Joe doesn't trust Mussina. Moose? Heck no! Moose was always a finesse pitcher but now he's turned into a nibbler. His FB tops out at 89mph -- and that's on a good day! On a bad day it barely reaches 83. Couple that with a 78mph change and you...

From NYYfans.com This just about sums it up: Posted by Phil Allard on October 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM I was about to go the Baseball Reference.com and put together some stats on the Yank’s offense in the playoffs these past few years and then I thought to myself: What’s the point? It’s very simple: No o...

Awww. Poor Cubbies. 4 DPs. Painful to watch. And I still don't understand why Lou took Zambrano out of the first game after 85 pitches and 6 innings. Makes no sense. Watching Soranio (2-14 series. Ouch) make the final out brings back ugly memories of him swinging through pitches in 2003 WS. Some wer...

Sigh. I know Faramond. I realized that particular fact after I posted but was a) too lazy, b) too disheartened or c) too much in denial to change it. The baseball gods are very cruel this year. I was speaking with a Mets fan this morning. Now there was some real misery! Losing a 7 game lead with onl...

We had C.C at >100 pitches by the 5th and it didn't do us any good at all. We left bases loaded in the 1st with only 1 out and both Posada and Matsui tanked. Last night may have been a classic pitchers dual but I wont be watching it again anytime soon. We have beaten Carmona twice in the regular sea...
