good question, perhaps there should be. Those that I know who've had misscarriages when wanting a child (my Mother for one), grieve themselves and with family. And usually this is enough without any formal ceremony. I used to go back and forth about rape and incest cases... and I used to believe in ...

I could. Not that callously, and with a great deal of hatred for the one that did it, but that child can be a wonderful thing too.

I think rape is the most horrifyingly evil thing in the world. I can't fathom having to deal with the pain of it.

It still does not justify what I consider murder.

I do, and I think what they need more than anything else is love and acceptance... not being told their child is a cancer or parasite and they shoudl get it cut out of them at the first possible moment.

Life isn't fair, but an unborn child deserves as much chance at that unfairness as anyone else.

Yeah, because a child born from rape or incest is less of a human being than other children... we should kill them all..

Ethel, if you've had people tell you you're going to hell for not believing exactly as they do, then you're right to be angry at that. The God I believe in loves you just as much as he loves anyone else. His desire is only for your love in return. I believe Jesus told us how to form that relationshi...

saying what you believe is very different than saying you think others beliefs are repugnant. this forum is supposed to be about safety in stating your beliefs. If people state their beliefs, and others then say those beliefs are repugnant, there's NO point in the forum. If poeple state their belief...

well, terms like "sneer" and "rejoicing in etnernal condemnation.." are pretty much a direct attack on our beliefs. I confess to ignorance. You think I am condemned to eternal torment. You're okay with that. But I say I have a problem with it, and I'm the bad guy? Okay. Obviousl...

outlawing aborthion has nothting to do with "controlling women" or their bodies... it has to do with protecting life.

There is no way on earth that the lack of a uterus reduces anyone's opinion on the matter.

Jnyusa, a huge number of Christians probably do view heaven as a reward and Hell as a punishment. This is a vastly over-simplified view that is not so much taught as it is assumed. It fits in with our general concepts of good behavior being rewarded, and bad behavior being punished... which is how m...

But Heaven and Hell is not a reward and punishment... it is simply a result.

Yes, if we did all evolve from the same place, and if the earth is 4 billion years old... I would see that as raising a lot of questions. Then again, maybe men were created separately from that evolutionary concept. I don't believe animals have souls. I believe animals are wonderful, and can provide...

The concept of how can you be happy in heaven if your loved ones are in Hell is a common argument, and a difficult one. It has been brought up many times in this thread, and never really addressed. One response to this is quite simple. We think we will be sad, seeing our loved ones in hell. In fact,...

Well, the discussion of Hell requires a discussion of free will. In essence, they are the same discussion from a Christian perspective. If we have free will, we must have a Hell. If there is no Hell, we have no free will. Arguably the FIRST thing you must believe to be a Christian, is that everyone ...
