hmm... but it seems that should a messiah come, that messiah would be part of judaism. If you were jewish, practiced judaism, and believed Jesus was the messiah, how would you then no longer be practicing Judaism? I mean, I can see what they're saying, but I understand you're objection to them sayin...

But it IS a culture, isn't it? It's rooted in an ancient nationality, is it not? I'm sure many of them did not convert from practicing judaism, but I don't see why it's so horrible if they did. I mean there are plenty of Christians that convert to other religions... I dont' know, I guess I'm just co...

I think they would call themselves Christians.

It would appear they also want to maintain their Jewish heritage, which is perfectly understandable.

yeah, TM, it seems that at the end of Billy Eliot it would be a Bourne version... which would fit with one of the themes of the movie. However, it seems there are many variatiosn on Swan Lake, so perhaps it is it was intended to be something different. One thing's for sure, billy is the star, and he...

yes, it is in the book of mormon. They also believe that Jesus is the sun of some kind of "man-God" that is a God that they aspire to be by achieving the highest level of "heaven." This "man-god" is only the god of this planet, not the only God. One thing that is partic...

after further research (of about half an hour ;) ), there are so many reasons mormons aren't christians, I don't know what to say... I mean one simple thing... they think Jesus was Lucifer's brother...

All those other denominations do not claim to have an entire other book they say is divinely inspired and made known to only one man.. who did quite well by it. Yes, Jesus is central to Christianity, but so is the Bible. There is so much in the Book of mormon that is NOT Christian, they cannot still...

eta: Mormons do believe that Jesus is the redeemer of humankind. I don't think they reject the Bible, but they have an additional holy book with additional stories about Jesus. Yes, they do. No, they do not reject the Bible. However, but it's literally like me saying I practice Judaism because part...

Indeed, that is the context of the verses I quoted. The Sadducees, who were teaching there is no ressurection, were trying the trick question on Jesus of who among seven brothers who all married the same woman (after each successive one died... sucks to be in THAT family), so who would the woman be ...

29Jesus replied, "You are in error because you do not know the Scriptures or the power of God. 30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven. 31But about the resurrection of the dead—have you not read what God said to you, 32'I...

grief is proportional to how much you know a person. Grief is a personal thing. I don't feel sadness for any unborn child that is aborted, because I don't know them, or anyone aroudn them. I feel sad for my mother but she is long past any grief she had over the event. Yes, the death of a 2 month old...

It seems reasonable to say that, whatever our principles, the ending of the life of a several-celled embryo is not "murder" in the same way that drowning a two-year-old in a bathtub would be murder. no, it's not the same, in the sense that you can get away with it, and have doctors that p...

Sexuality is without a doubt a very important of being a human being. I don't think that will go away in heaven. Then again, maybe what we have as sex on earth, is only a pale comparison of what we will have available to us in heaven. When people marry, they are supposed to become "one flesh&qu...
