Re: Trump and Biden Classified Document Investigations

Also, sometimes material gets classified long after it's generated, so some of the material found in Trump's, Biden's, and Pence's homes might not have been classified when they took it home but is considered classified now (this was also the case with Hillary's emails). I *believe* the issue is th...

It's a somewhat-famous-in-some-circles piece of marginalia from medieval manuscripts. There is a lot of that kind of art in them, and there are differing opinions on why and what it might 'really' represent.

Re: The challenges ahead (Biden's America)

As lately mentioned here, unemployment is below 3.5% and hasn't been this low in 54 years. As Dave Weigel of Semafor notes at that link, in 2012, one of Mitt Romney's campaign promises in 2012 was that as president, he would get unemployment below 6%. Unemployment did drop below 6% in 2014, during ...

Re: Chaos in the House

Debating the house rules on the floor today, and the first amendment offered by a Republican is about making stricter the rules of what women have to wear in here. Yep, the caucus that lost their minds over the suggestion that they should wear masks during a pandemic to respect the safety of others...

The blankets have very fine fibers added to the wool from the thin cambium layer between the bark and the wood of the tree. It's flexible and has a high tensile strength, and can be split down to threadlike pieces and added into wool as you spin it. Is it added to keep bugs out of the wool?? I was ...

Another condition the renegade Republicans have apparently gotten Kevin McCarthy to agree to is the reinstatement of the "Holman rule," which was in effect from 1876 to 1983 and from 2017 to 2019 and which allows the House to amend appropriations bills to cut the salaries of specific posi...

Re: Chaos in the House

Malice and incompetence are not mutually exclusive. True. And I think that's what's driving the current situation. If it were competent malice, we'd have a Speaker by now. No but that was my point - competent malice can *look* like incompetence if you aren't in on what the goal is. If the goal is a...

So what are the chances that the Republicans are actually doing this on purpose to distract from something else going on?

Specifically my thought is distract from Trump/Jan 6th investigations, but is there another possible event that they're trying to draw attention from?
