Re: Middle-earth [formerly LotR] in New Media
Really? I think thats absolutely dreadful artwork. Looks like Idris Elba's Heimdall, not Aragorn with Anduril. The sword is preposterous.

Re: Daily Dracula
It was from May 16 with the brides. There's another reference to it coming soon IIRC "Are we to have nothing to-night?" said one of them, with a low laugh, as she pointed to the bag which he had thrown upon the floor, and which moved as though there were some living thing within it. For an...

Re: Good music and other good stuff on youtube and Facebook
THis is the closest thing I've heard to an unreleased Queen song. Sam Ryders voice is exceptional and has a very Freddie quality, completely different to Adam Lambert, who I do love also. It helps that Brian May provides the guitar break.

So, a bit of news here. The National AIMS Awards nominations came out Sunday. THink of them like the Tonys for Amateur Musicals in Ireland. I was involved in three shows this year. "Our House" which I directed, "Little Shop of Horrors" for which I was Technical Manager (Sets, Lig...

Re: Daily Dracula
Its also very sensual and sexy in a way that modern movies would completely overdo. The sense of anticipation and hunger (both kinds) is palpable.

Re: Daily Dracula
Knowing what Harker will eventually find fills these excursions with dread for me. Interesting side note. I made best effort to find the most accurate Movie or TV adaptation that tells the story almost exactly as written, and one simply doesn't exist. Even the 70's BBC Miniseries screws it up. THe B...

Re: Daily Dracula
Reading this reminds me a lot of Tolkien. People say "that's such a trope" but only cause Stoker and JRRT invented them!
Its difficult to pretend we don't all know Dracula and read this as just an older gentleman in an ancestral home. We fill in the blanks immediately.
