Their use of the Eagles as messengers of the Valar was bass-ackward, as they tried to use the Eagles to show that Pharazon was the legitimate ruler, which made no sense. Yup. I used hints for all but one, and don't feel even a little bad about it.

By my count, there are 4 5-letter English words that end with the final four letters of today's solution. One of them was already ruled out by the time I locked down the ending, but I had to guess all three of the remaining candidates before I got the one they wanted. :x Better than failing, but now...

And I dislike it when they use movie titles. Basically every English noun is a movie title at this point.

Today's Connections was rated 3/5 difficulty, which I find odd given that 2 of the categories had five valid choices (arguably six in one case), and there was at least one valid group of four that wasn't in the answer. To avoid those traps, you've basically got to solve the full puzzle in your head ...
