Re: News from Bree and other random discussions

It's a pretty cool write-up all the same. And puns should be will within its capabilities anyway.

Re: Dune

We finally watched Dune 2 this weekend. The visuals were great. The story alterations mostly irritated me.
I really did not like the compression of the time line. What took Paul years to accomplish in the book took less than a year in the movie. Not believable, imo.

My understanding is that with most deer attacks, the deer rears up on its hind legs and strikes and stomps with their front feet. The antlers are mostly for confrontations with other deer.

Re: Frazetta LOTR Images and Fantasy art beyond Tolkien

I grew up reading Tarzan novels over and over again until they were quite dog-eared. I loved the Frazzeta covers and can't remember ever giving a second thought to what they were wearing.

Re: TV obsessions—come on, admit it!

We've been watching "Beacon 23" lately. I got a little frustrated with the cliffhanger on the latest available episode recently and bought the book the show is supposedly based on. So far, besides the lighthouse in space concept, the TV series has very little in common with the series of s...

Again... random chance. First guess landed me in a category so broad, I thought I'd narrow it a bit by picking an insect next. The first three insects I tried weren't in the database... but the next one was the answer! Weird.

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions

I got today's Metazooa in two guesses, which is really weird because with the first guess I landed a category so broad that I guessed the furthest thing I could think of from my first guess just to narrow the field a bit... and it was right! Pure, dumb luck.

Re: Games, Riddles, Puzzles, and other Distractions

I was distracted by the yellow tile malfunction, made a couple of stupid moves and ended up quitting when I didn't have enough moves left to solve it.

Re: What are you reading?

There are a lot of complaints about the narrator on Audible about "The Priory of the Orange Tree" I don't think I'll spend a credit on that just now. And Thornhedge is too short to use a credit on. Yeah, I'm trying not to have to buy more credits right now. I'm mostly listening to free tit...

Re: The last movie you saw Thread

This week we watched 2 movies. The first one was "Life" which on the list I chose it from was described as "thought provoking" and "thrilling". So we thought we were in for a *good* man meets alien movie. Nope. In no time at all it devolved into a horror movie. The sci ...

I got 1094 points on my first try. I don't know if that's good or not.
