This is not terribly surprising, given that Guiliani's previous lawyer, Robert Costello, is suing him for over a million dollars in unpaid legal fees, but you would think these guys would have known that that dispute was happening before they agreed to represent Guiliani in the first place. So maybe there is more to this than just that he is not paying his bills.

The judge in this case has ordered that Fani Willis's team can call conspiracy theorist Alex Jones and Republican National Committee chairwoman Ronna McDaniel in the first trial in the conspiracy case -- of Ken Chesebro and Sydney Powell -- later this month.

I watched some of the hearing this morning. My goodness, Chesebro's lawyer is as much of wingnut as any of them! I actually felt sorry for the lawyer for Fulton County for having to oppose that crap. The combination of absolute nonsense and absolute certitude is the worst kind of lawyering.

CNN reports that a "new trove of 15,000 emails" and other documents has been "turned over to prosecutors in the Georgia election subversion case." The documents, formerly thought to be lost, pertain to Misty Hampton, who was the election supervisor for Coffee County, and who has been charged in this case.

More Ken Chesebro news: the judge ruled today that emails Chesebro was trying to exclude due to attorney-client privilege don't qualify, due to the crime-fraud exception.

He also expressed skepticism that there even was an attorney-client relationship. But, as you indicate, even if there were the privilege would not apply because of the crime-fraud exception.

Edited to add: I heard this news in passing earlier today but am only now catching up to the details. I see that Powell entered her guilty plea in court to "six misdemeanors accusing her of conspiring to intentionally interfere with the performance of election duties"; that she will get six years' probation, pay a $6,000 fine and $2,700 in restitution, and write a letter of apology to Georgia citizens; that's she recorded a statement for prosecutors; and that she's agreed to testify truthfully in others' trials.

She had been charged just over two months ago with seven felony counts, including racketeering and conspiracies to commit election fraud, "computer theft, computer trespass, computer invasion of privacy, and [to] defraud the state."

And (drum roll) Chesebro has flipped as well. So no trial now, more testimony against Trump when there is a trial, and no previewing of the case before Trump goes on trial. How many of the others will flip now. The over/under is 10, and I am definitely on the over.

By not discussing it, or so it appears when I browse the social media accounts of the likes of Mollie Hemingway, Byron York, Megyn Kelly, and Bethany Mandel.
