My hair dresser Lisa's (whom I've known since I was 6) Mom has lung cancer that they kept at bay for a years but now it's attacking the other side of her lung. Please keep Lisa and her Mom in your thoughts and prayers, thanks.

Please pray for Micah, the critically ill 17-year-old son of a friend. He is a healthy, active boy who suddenly developed multiple blood clots in his lungs and legs and now is having liver and kidney problems. The doctors can't explain why this is happening. Tests for genetic problems that could make the blood clot have come up negative so far. One doctor suspects it could be some sort of rare infectious disease.
He was transferred by ambulance tonight to the teaching hospital at UNC Chapel Hill.
Micah's a good kid. He goes to my son's high school, where his father teaches, and the boys were in Scouts together. His mother is a co-worker of mine. I'm sure they're all terrified.

Take my hand, my friend. We are here to walk one another home.

Yes, definitely, Wampus, I'll pray for them. How terrified they must be.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I hope Micah is better now, Wampus.
Please put my friends Karen and Roger in your prayers again. After a full biopsy they've determined his lymphoma is a more aggressive form than they thought—which is mixed news; the indolent kind can't really be cured, whereas this often can be, with chemo. But he starts chemo on Tuesday. That is never fun, whatever you can hope it will accomplish.

Micah is still in the hospital and, at best, will be home after Thanksgiving. He's gone through major clot-busting procedures but some clots still remain, including one in his heart.
I'm hearing everything second-hand, because the family is discouraging direct calls. But I'm sure his parents are going through hell.
Prayers for Karen and Roger.

Oh, no. How terrible. I am so sorry.
