I won’t spoil it but I just saw it. For me it was worth the wait.

Please don't spoil it! :)
1) why in the world would you not want to see it???

2) how could you possibly wait so long to go??? I'm seeing it tomorrow and the wait is killing me - how do they expect me to get work done today when THE MOVIE is out??? :D

I have seen The Movie. I have never, ever seen so much applause and cheering and excitement in a movie theater as I did for this. And every damn bit of it completely earned. It is an absolutely stunning, staggering achievement. I'm in awe.

Would it be as fulfilling for someone who hasn't seen most of the other Marvel movies?

Would Return of the King have the same impact if you didn’t watch FotR and TTT? ;)

I'd say almost certainly not but there's an easy way to answer the question: have you seen Infinity Wars? were you excited by it? If the answer to either question is no, then this movie is not for you.

Starting around Ultron, Marvel stopped even trying to include any sort of a recap in the movies in the main story arc. Unless they draw on something they haven't touched in IW, I'd say the minimum prerequisite for the Endgame would be

Iron Man*
The Avengers*
Guardians of the Galaxy
The Winter Soldier*
Avengers: the Age of Ultron* (Is it necessary?)
Captain America: The Civil War*
Dr. Strange
Black Panther*
Thor: The Ragnarok*
Infinity War*

The starred movies should be watched in order, the rest can move around. You can possibly skip them if you have enough knowledge of the comics for when, for example, a gun-toting raccoon makes an entrance.

Ant-Man and Captain Marvel are desirable but skippable. Everything else, you can watch later.

We'll, apparently it is for a lot of people given that it made more money in its opening weekend ($1.2 billion) than ROTK (the highest grossing Middle-earth film) made in its entire run ($1.12 billion).

I guess I'll just have to get caught up, then. Which means I won't get to the new movie until it's on DVD.

An absolutely insane achievement, though the comparison isn't really fair and doesn't hold true if you adjust for inflation. :)

Jude, which ones of them have you seen (if any)?

Shouldn't all this discussion be in the Marvel thread?

Finally saw Bohemian Rhapsody last night. Liked it a lot (despite some glaring factual inaccuracies, but don't really feel like I can discuss it here with all the talk of the Marvel behemoths, which is why we started that other thread in the first place.

Sorry, was wanting to keep the Marvel thread for spoilery discussions so was just giving my broad, basic reaction here.

Maybe there needs to be a specific movie spoilers thread?
The dumbest thing I've ever bought
was a 2020 planner.

"Does anyone ever think about Denethor, the guy driven to madness by staying up late into the night alone in the dark staring at a flickering device he believed revealed unvarnished truth about the outside word, but which in fact showed mostly manipulated media created by a hostile power committed to portraying nothing but bad news framed in the worst possible way in order to sap hope, courage, and the will to go on? Seems like he's someone we should think about." - Dave_LF

I appreciate keeping spoilers to the other thread. :)

My problem is, Tapatalk shows a preview of a couple lines of the post. Could I ask for a couple lines break before you post really big spoilers? Or ideally, any spoilers? Pretty please? :cake:

Does Tapatalk reveal stuff that's inside a spoiler tag?

Good question. I'm not sure, as I didn't click on the post to find out if there were tags. Does anyone know?

Hidden text.
Now you know
Edit: And the answer is... not inside the thread itself, but the spoiler text does shows up in the thread's preview if you have previews enabled (and the spoiler-containing post is the most recent one).

Folks, y'all making a bigger deal of this then it needs to be. This is the "last movie you saw" thread so I came here to say that the last movie I saw was Endgame and I loved it. That's all I had to say here. Anymore detailed discussions then that will be reserved for the Marvel thread. :)

Moving on!
