I think what Inanna is suggesting is something like:
Guy: Hi, I like your profile, you seem nice
Me: Thanks, I like yours too
Guy: Cool! Would you like to meet sometime?
Me: Sure, I'm free for coffee Tuesday and Thursday next week. What's your week like?

I actually had a specific day and general time set with one of those three (ie. "Monday evening"). It was even his suggestion.

They're probably Russian trolls. I think something like 92% of internet entities are, these days.

Awwww. I’ll try and remember this when I read some of the nasty comments my students leave (3 out of 10).

I appreciate the hugs but I wasn't looking for sympathy by sharing that here. It was meant more as a companion piece to the article's examples of the weird ways modern technology is changing sex and dating. :)

Well, yov, through your own actions you've made a lot of people here care about you. So I'm afraid you're just going to have to live with the consequences. :D
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

This article makes a really good argument for non-zero-tolerance policies, even for me-too cases.

Excellent find! I've shared it all over the place.

"These days?" "People on the left?" How about "all times and places" and "all people?"

So, a few radio stations have removed "Baby its cold outside" from their Christmas rotation due to the #MeToo movement. Overreaction?

This actually doesn't bother me. I don't believe in prohibiting or disrupting political or religious speech purely because it's offensive, and I don't believe in bowdlerising the past, but I don't have a problem if we decide some type of entertainment has had it's day and should be left in the past. If the song had remarkable artistic merit I think that would outweigh the issues, but as it stands, I don't see a reason to play it when there's others available.

But who decides what has artistic merit? The song has survived over 70 years, so it obviously has something going for it.

But that’s not what their choice is predicated on in this case.
