I split this off from the "Punch a Nazi thread. Clearly it deserves its own thread. VtF
I've heard people say that it's not really Nazism until they're building camps. Well, they're building camps to hold thousands of children. What are we waiting for now? Ovens?

If your Senator is one of the 60 not currently supporting the bill to stop this, the least you can do is call them. It never stops with the people you think it will stop with.

Stephen Colbert said they were using the pretext of giving the children showers to separate them from their parents. What a chill that sent down my spine!
As I posted on FB, remember the last time that pretext was used to separate families?
The building of camps isn't the only thing in this situation that's bringing back memories of WWII and the Holocaust!
And yeah, I also said just what you said, Frelga. EVERYONE in the U.S.A. needs to call their senator, and get this STOPPED!

Careful Sunny. The White House flacks find statements like that offensive. Keep it up and they'll just shut down. You need to be kind and patient and extend a hand in understanding while the fine agents of ICE rip infants from their mothers' breasts and toss kids into camps for indefinite stays because asylum seekers belong in jail.
When you can do nothing what can you do?

Hey, if I REALLY wanted to get into trouble, I'd post this cartoon on FB....

Or you could post it here.

For the record, I don't support lethal violence (and I know Sunny doesn't, either :sun:).
However, Dr. Seuss had something to say about this, back in 1941.

Frelga, yeah, I know you don't and I don't either. That's why I am only posting it here where people know me.
I also have that Dr Seuss cartoon in my files. Who ever thought it would be relevant in this century?

I know that both of you don't support violence. But I still don't want things like that bless-me-father cartoon posted here. Please do not do so in the future.

Okay, thanks for clarifying that. I wasn't sure how you felt about it.

I sympathize, Sunny, I really do—but I agree with Voronwë.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

It makes it easier to align with Russia and North Korea against China and Europe

I am trying to compose a letter to my representatives, but I am struggling. There is so much happening it is overwhelming. Knowing that anything I say will not likely change the view of my representatives doesn't help. It's just awful.

I've been wondering if comparing the situation with the refugee children to the Nazis has been going, you know...a little bit overboard? I mean, one can always hope, right?
Saw this on FB this morning. Changed my mind.
