Against my better judgment, I watched some Chicago PD. I thought it was a good specimen of what it was trying to be. And Jason Beghe would make a pretty good Vimes, I think.

:) I suspect the revival of the Firefly is more likely. Shame, it was an amazing show.

Speaking of Marvel, a friend of mine was trying to tell me Stan Lee had died recently, as in the last couple of weeks.

I am not sure what planet I would have to be living on to miss that news, if it had actually happened!

Sunny, not only he didn't die, he was robbed at gunpoint on Thursday.

Stan Lee Faces Down Two Gunmen Outside LA Home

Al, true enough, but Agent Carter did not get high enough ratings for ABC. Not surprising, if people's only idea about the character came from The First Avenger, which really didn't do her justice, and with only eight episodes per season, there wasn't enough to build momentum. It may have done better on Netfilx, but there's some rights issues keeping it with ABC. :nono: Maybe when Disney starts its own streaming service next year...

But you should all watch it. :cheerleader: Each season tells a complete story, and I honestly can't think of anyone here who would not enjoy it.

Wow, that sounds really scary!

I have two Fantastic Four comic books from the first year of the series (#13 and #17) and have been secretly wanting to get them signed by Stan. Alas, my online research has turned up some worrisome news about Stan's state of health: https://movieweb.com/stan-lee-health-is ... ed-marvel/ :(

I watched all of Derry Girls and I'm pretty sure that I understood at least 95% of it. 8)

Any word on a season 2?

I had to been curious about sense8 since it was announced, but very skeptical since everything from the Wachowskis since the original Matrix has been not very good. The show got cancelled but Netflix was cool enough to let them do a big finale show which they just put out recently. I figured now would be a good time to give it a shot - and boy am I glad I did! I just finished watching the first season and I've got to say, I absolutely loved it!

I had a few issues with it here and there - some of the writing was fairly clunky, some of the storylines a bit ridiculous - but overall, it's such a cool and interesting premise and has such a good, likeable cast, it was easy to overlook the shows occasional weaknesses. I found the ride exciting and surprisingly emotional throughout. Plus, the show is really beautiful, being filmed in all sorts of wonderful natural locations all around the world.

If the remainder of the show is as good as the first season, it could become an all-time favorite.

It certainly struck a chord with me. I'm not sure why. I like the characters enough, though, that I'm almost glad they cut the series short and are doing only one more wrap-it-up episode. I say that because it distresses me to see them unhappy and in danger, if that makes any sense.

Just watched the finale of Sense8. It was a bit confusing in places- as in: who is actually there in body and who is in the scene only in mind??? Until I finally realized it didn't matter. :)

I am on episode 9 or 10 of season 2 so I will be getting to the finale soon. Unfortunately, so far, I have found season 2 a good deal less enjoyable than the first. I still like the show but I'm not sure I still love it. I will report more impressions once I've seen the finale....

Yeah, second season wasn't as good. I'm not sure why. I thought it was just me- that I'd built it up in my mind too much over the wait. But if you are watching them straight through and have the same impression, I guess season 2 actually is lacking something.

Yeah, so that didn't happen. I finished the series last night. I can't recall a show that went from "I love this" to "this is terrible" so quickly. By the time I got to the totally ridiculous, non-sensical finale, I had almost entirely checked out because I just didn't care about any of it by that point. By the end, I kinda hated the whole stupid thing. What a waste.

The thought did occur to me but that's not a show.
