So, great news. My production of Man of La Mancha is nominated for 3 awards. My Cervantes is up for Best Actor, my Aldonza for Best Female Singer and also our House Management team. There's also a chance we'll be up for Best Overall Show, but that is only announced on the night before the awards.

The Association of Irish Musical Societies. About 140 Musical Societies across the country and the standard varies from very amateur to almost professional standard so its a big deal.

Congrats! Well deserved. I hope you get the nod for Best Overall Show, as well!

Well, there's 5 shows nominated, and there's about 7 in serious contention, so hopefully!

Just being in serious contention is a great achievement. Am I remembering correctly that this was your first directorship?

That's wonderful, Alatar! Congratulations! When is the awards ceremony?
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

So you'll know about the Best Show nod on the night of the 16th?

Hypothetical question: If one were going to be in New York on vacation toward the end of the month, and one were thinking about buying Broadway tickets, and Evan Hansen was already sold out, which of the other currently playing shows would make a good second choice? (further suppose that one had already seen Hamilton, Wicked, and Phantom at some point in the past)

Wow; thanks for the thorough response. I was leaning Chicago given that Evan Hansen is sold out, but you've got me intrigued about The Play That Goes Wrong now... (Sunset Boulevard is taking a break the week I'll be there :|)

Note, The Play that Goes Wrong is not a musical its a coarse play/farce.
