I've recently taken up needle felting. Here's a wolf I just finished using wool from my sheep.

Yeah. A relative suggested it. I thought the phrase was based on a fable, but wikipedia says it's as much biblical in origin as anything else.
Anyway... a wolf! The proportions are a tad off. I'm going to use calipers next time instead of just eye-balling it.
This one is about 8 inches tall at the shoulder and about a foot long nose to tail. I thought making it bigger than the bear would make it easier to get details in... but it turned out the extra weight of the wool was heavier than the wire could support and his little legs wouldn't hold him up! They just kind of splayed out sideways.
So I had to add extra wires to his legs and re-wrap them and re-cover them. They work now. I learn more about how to do this with every creature I make.
My mom sent me a handful of horse tail hairs to use as whiskers on things, and they worked quite well for this.

Wow! For a second, I thought it was a photo you used as a model.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

It has some serious flaws but the remaining ones are too difficult to fix and I'm calling it done. The next wolf or dog I make will be much better.
And I'm getting stronger wire! This poor critter can barely stand up. It's been standing on a file cabinet next to my desk all day and its ankles seem to be flattening out. Maybe I should change its pose to have its legs tucked under.

And then my dog tore up her squeaky toy, and her fiber felted frizbee has been holding up so well I decide to make her a felted squeaky toy.

My husband keeps snickering over this one and is refusing to give it to the dog until he shows it to his friends at work. 
I had to keep reminding him not to squeak it if he wasn't going to let the dog have it! The poor dog kept running up every time, expecting us to hand her the new toy. She loves squeaky toys that are fuzzy, but she keeps tearing holes in them and puling the stuffing out. I'm hoping she won't be able to tear this one up.
