Faramond! Welcome, my friend, it is very good to see you.
tp, very well said.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
I'm going to give you a hug whether you want one or not.
I am so sorry that I made you angry in that other location. Hope it won't be too much longer before I can offer an explanation. Not a rationalization, but at least an explanation.
Thank you for the welcome, Sass and Jn and Voronwë.
I am not at all sure I will be posting here in the short-term future, to be honest. But to be perfectly frank if this place becomes what you all hope it will be then I am sure in the long-term future I will be posting here.
I really don't want to veer off this happy welcome thread into any other matters, so I won't go into anything else at the moment.
I'llpass on the wine but surely there is a proper ale to be had.
I need to get out of this work enviroment and head into the streets to do battle with the other snow scared maniac drivers so I'll be back tomorrow.
Pokes head in, nods approvingly. It seems very Tolkien.
I think the good Professor would be proud. I am still wandering about, so pay no attention to me until I find my way around. Did someone mention food and drink? I will be sure to check that out as well.
Suffering from a nasty head cold, I am not sure if I will be up to anything too highbrow discussion-wise, but I will be happy to listen until my head clears.
I simply must learn to stop hanging about in that darn pool outside the Moria gates, they say at my age it does little good for my sinuses and darned it it is not cold as well.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”
― J.R.R. Tolkien, The Return of the King
Ummm, I don't really know where to post this, but just a curiousity.
I got an update for a thread, clicked on it, and was taken to board77 saying that the post or topic does not exist (obviously, as it isn't on b77). I tried it a couple of times, making sure it was really was a HoF email update.
