Welcome Tom da Bomb! :D

As Jny so aptly put it in a thread title here: there can never be enough Tom Bombadil! :D
but being a cheerful hobbit he had not needed hope, as long as despair could be postponed.

Welcome Tom!

:D :D :D

Now let the song begin! Let us sing together
Of sun, stars, moon and mist, rain and cloudy weather,
Light on the budding leaf, dew on the feather,
Wind on the open hill, bells on the heather,
Reeds by the shady pool, lilies on the water:
Old Tom Bombadil and the River-daughter!

:horse:

Naturally, we shall expect you to tell us who you really are There's a thread all set up and waiting for you ....

=:)

Thanks for sharing a real pic, Tom! :D

And I can't believe there's a Tom-smiley! So cool! 8) Or did you make it yourself?

I found that smiley during a web search for images of Tom Bombadil some time back. There's also one for Goldberry:

That picture of my wife and me was taken at a picnic in San Francisco on Oct 1, 2005. (I've slimmed down a little since then as I now work out 4-5 days a week.)

Welcome Tom... The Alan Lee avatar is wonderful. I recognised it from the "Lord of the Rings Sketchbook" immediately.

Love the smilies! :D

And, like Alatar said, the drawing in your avatar is great! :)

Are you bringing Goldberry to the moot?

Little Bird sat on a twig. 'Whillo, Tom! I heed you.
I've a guess, I've a guess where your fancies lead you.
Shall I go, shall I go, bring him word to meet you?'

A little bird told me. ;)

Seriously, Anthriel provided the website URL to me in an email as a result of our discussion about the San Francisco moot.

Yes, Hobbi, Goldberry will be coming. :)

Hi, Alatar! Yes, the avatar is from Alan Lee's LOTR Sketchbook. He was in the San Francisco Bay Area in October signing copies, so I was fortunate enough to have Alan sign my copy. In my opinion he's an artistic genius.

Ah, Anthriel! Our spreader of balm and joy. :D

As part of your orientation: the llama is the hieroglyph for the Hall of Fire.

:llama:

No explanation for this can be offered. Just use it whenever you can't think of anything else to say.

When I can't think of anything else to say? That's a very rare thing indeed!

I do, however, appreciate the tip. I will try to use it judiciously. ;)

Thank you, Impenitent. :)

Quiz time: Does anybody know what kind of bird Tom's blue feather belonged to?

(The blue feather in the hat of the photo of me I linked to is a duck's feather dyed blue, by the way. Tom's feather wasn't from a duck, but it was the best I could do.)

Alan Lee is a genius.

Just wanted to say that.

That IS Tom Bombadil.

It's like Alan actually met him.
