Lali, Hanukah lasts until Sunday, so you are in good time. :)

Oh good! :) I'm glad I didn't miss it.

(Why don't we celebrate the 12 days of Christmas any more? I think it would be a lovely way to spread the Christmas cheer out a little more and maybe make it a little less stressful.)

Europeans still do twelve days, don't they? It really takes a lot of pressure off.

We do the twelve days in an important way: no Christmas stuff has to be put away until January 6. We get to enjoy the tree longer, and the chore of putting away lights and decorations doesn't come immediately after the pleasant but significant effort of making the celebration happen. Those quiet days after New Year's are wonderful.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I don't know if most Europeans actually do the twelve days in any other way than Prim's family - at least we just keep the tree and the decorations up until Jan 6, and at least I try and take the days between Christmas and New Year off work.

And, seems I'm still on time to wish Happy Hanukah to those who celebrate. :)

My humble thanks, A-man.

I had a bowl of noodles on X-mas Eve. It's sacred food to me and my tribe.

(More favourite than the Dick/Jane stuff? Perhaps one has to be American.)
