Tolkien in Love

Post by Alatar »

I meant to post this link ages ago, but I was on holiday. Unfortunately, you only have one day left to listen to it!

In short, I found it far more enjoyable a retelling of Beren and Lúthien than Christopher's book, despite the many liberties taken!

I saw a note about this a couple of days ago at John Rateliff's blog.

http://sacnoths.blogspot.com/2017/09/to ... -love.html

John says "Have to confess I haven't made it all the way through it myself; it's well-done but for some reason off-putting."
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
