Something mildly entertaining:

The front-page story in the Australian today is Howard in secret North Korea mission.

Who writes these headlines?

Firstly, how is it ‘secret’ when it’s been published on the front page of a national newspaper?

Secondly, how is it a mission when it’s simply an offer to trade coal for good behaviour?

Thirdly, does it give anyone else a mental image of the short, balding and bespecled Prime Minister coming ashore at a North Korean beach at night and sabotaging the missile facilities or something a la James Bond?

On the actual subject, I think it’s a silly idea. I don’t see why North Korea should get free stuff in exchange for making threats.

The best case scenario is certainly some sort of NK internal collapse. Unfortunately, that's also the worst case scenario, if they have at least one nuke and you live in Seoul, or perhaps Tokyo. :(
