Strikes and labor actions

Post by Frelga »

I was going to make a snappy title with a Living on a Prayer reference but failed. Feel free to make your own.

If you aren't following US labor news, currently striking are:

WGA - movie and TV writers

SAG - actors (this strike started during the premiere of Oppenheimer, and the stars walked out to join the picket lines)

Fun fact - the last time both writers and actors were on strike at the same time was 60 years ago and the head of the actor's union was Ronald Reagan.

Hotel workers in LA

And many others.

Also UPS drivers may be about to strike, which one study called a costliest strike in a century. (Reuters)
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.
