Political Compass

Post by Alatar »

I thought this was an interesting experiment, a bit like Myers Briggs, but for Politics:

http://www.politicalcompass.org/index

Here's my results:

http://www.politicalcompass.org/printab ... &soc=-3.38

The Political Compass

Economic Left/Right: -3.50
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.38

And here is mine:

Economic Left/Right: -3.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.95

(If you're not looking at the graph, this puts me a bit to the left and about halfway into Libertarian territory.)

That was interesting, even though I don't really put much store in these types of tests:

Economic Left/Right: -8.75
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.38

I would have liked a "true neutral" option on some of the questions. ;)

Economic Left/Right: -4.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.69

On the graph showing where some leaders might score, I am very surprised to find Jacob Zuma and Barack Obama in such close proximity. Makes me doubt the accuracy of that particular graph a little bit. :P

The truth is, I probably have the most radical views of anyone on this board. But what that test doesn't appear to take into account is the ability to empathize with people with different points of view.

I've done this bedore. Is this something new, or the same site that's been around for years?
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Maybe Voronwë and I should go out for tea. And maybe I should have S take this test. He's on me at times for being too far to the right.

Well, that's what happens when you grow up with the Land of Oz as your working model of state power!

I'm the Weirdest Overallest, though! Let's see anyone beat that -16.09 "Emerald City Or Bust" cumulative score!

Same as usual, -8.00, -6.67 or so. I guess it's my dogged belief in ownership of land being okay sometimes that keeps me from reaching the exalted levels of leftiness of Teremia and V-man. :D
