I'm tempted to tease you by saying that it is clearly "phoned in" CGI, but I like it myself too much to do so.
I think these orcs look closest to how Tolkien described most of them. With more of a simian physiology (long arms, short legs, etc):

Yup. It's taken almost 15 years, and 6 films, but Jackson might have finally figured out how to get the Orcs right.

Huh. I still like the Uruk-hai best. Besides, what are these orcs? Something out of Dol Guldur? They are not goblins from the mountain.
P.S.: and the Warg-riders of Orthanc. Conclusion - Saruman is better at making orcs than Sauron.
If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Agreed. And frankly, I never really liked the "muscle men in prosthetics" look of the Uruk-Hai, or the little ratty orcs of Moria and Mordor. In this case, CGI helps give us a more interesting and faithful look. Though of course, there's too much of it. If PJ knew how to be sparing with CGI, these films could have been great.
