The new year will be a good time to come over and play with your errand to run to the store.

(I hope V-man likes his new djembe.)

The new year will be a good time to be able to come to the new house and will be able to come to the new house.

TIME LOOP!!!!!
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

The new year will bring home the same time for you and your family to be there for a good time

Another silly internet game from @CFiesler
Let's play a game. Go to Amazon, to "Your Orders," and with the year drop-down, find the earliest year listed... and then RT and tell us what the FIRST thing you ever bought on Amazon was. Bonus points for it being nearly 20 years ago. :) #BabysFirstAmazon
Mine was Serenity and Firefly DVDs in 2006

My first order was the hardcover editions of volumes X-XII of The History of Middle-earth in early 2008. Apparently I paid for it with a gift card which I assume was a Christmas present from one of my aunts or uncles who had given up on trying to find non-book gifts (I'm sure I wasn't an easy kid to shop for :P).

Maybe you should change the name of this thread to something like "Silly internet games."

My first order was on June 8, 2002, and it was two CD's by Famoudou Konate, one the greatest djembefolas of all time, and a close friend of my teacher, Mamady Keita.

Mine was in May 29, 1999 and consisted of several non-fiction books like:

Edible Wild Plants : A North American Field Guide

Identifying and Harvesting Edible and Medicinal Plants in Wild (And Not So Wild Places)

The Quest for Wild Jelly

Better Homes and Garden Presents : America's All Time Favorite Canning & Preserving Recipes

How to Dry Foods

I still have them all, of course.

My first Amazon order, placed August 14, 1998:

Scientific Style and Format: The CBE Manual for Authors, Editors, and Publishers

The ACS Style Guide: A Manual for Authors and Editors

Visions: How Science Will Revolutionize the 21st Century, by Michio Kaku

The geekitude is strong with this one. . . .

My first Amazon order was April 2010, of a Kindle and a protective cover.

Following that, 99% of my orders have been digital (imagine that!).

The only physical orders since that time:

Three further Kindles and protective covers (in 2012 and 2014)

Maths instruments cuff links (tiny little protractors), and physics equations silk tie. (2015)

Windhome (2017)

I'm not a prolific Amazon buyer - where I can, I prefer to support local.

Here's another.

Pick up the book nearest to you.

Add 'Harry Potter and' as a prefix to the title of the book.

Mine is Harry Potter and the Talking God, which sounds legit.
