The Tolkien Translation Game!
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
I believe it's Frelga's turn.

Awww. I missed those ears.

Yeah, the translation party is borked.
This is the penultimate translation.
Some others fear that he is greater than I.
And this is the next and final step: And Cain said unto the LORD, My punishment is greater than I can bear.

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

Huh.
Which book is it from? The Tolkien quote.
(PS: Actually, which book is the final one from, too?)
(PPS: see how specific I’m being, Frelga?)

The final one is from Genesis.
I think I know what's going on - the programmers have got a list of quotes from literature (or perhaps a database of full-text classics) and as the last step try to match the entry with a quote from their database. So far they're failing, except for the one time it supplied the final bit of Voronwë's Galadriel quote.

Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
Does it relate to Gandalf talking about Sauron?

Not about sauropod.
Or Sauron. (because sometimes autocorrect doesn't win)

Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
Indeed. I don't think it's possible for you to make a guess about something Tolkien related that is entirely incorrect.

Does the translation have the general meaning of the original?
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
It actually has most of the words in the correct order but a few grammatical differences change the meaning appreciably.

Is it Gandalf about the Witchking? The one about "Some are greater than I, against some I have not yet been tested" or words to that effect?

No. The word "fear" is in the quote.

Is it Gandalf about the Balrog?
