Yes. The eye roll was for me, not you.

Nope!

Edit: that was to your guess on the previous page

Edit edit: just to bring the quote to the new page:
You looked through the glass you were peeking at last, so you have seen something.

Anyone have any ideas? Or should I ask Frelga to swoop in here and save the day like a Marvel superhero?

Frelga knows the answer, she should answer!
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

In the meantime, you can narrow it down with guesses while we wait for her to show up...

Does it relate to the star-glass that Galadriel gave Frodo?

Is it in Bree? Or the Shire?

Are any of the words in the translation in the original? If so, what is one of them?

Hidden text.

Edit: oops, I see you only asked for one. I put others in spoiler tags.

Edit edit: actually, one of the words maybe shouldn't be there. Hmm...

"You" is not really very helpful so I looked in the spoiler. Which one shouldn't be there?

Found it.

“Yes, you have seen a thing or two since you last peeped out of a looking-glass”

Says Frodo to his reflection!!! About himself.

Tricksy Jude.

That's the one!

Voronwë, I had second thoughts about "glass", because in the original it was only the last part of a hyphenated word.

Quite close to the original in words, but not intent:
At that time, I saw a wonderful idea with Aragorn. He may be the power of a fearful Lord, but he is putting a ring on himself.

Well, I certainly recognize that one! Legolas, speaking to Merry and Pippin in the Houses of Healing about Aragorn: "‘In that hour I looked on Aragorn and thought how great and terrible a Lord he might have become in the strength of his will, had he taken the Ring to himself."
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
