Bringing quote to this page:
They hunt for me. How far have I been? Time, i need to think.
I think I know where this is. I'll be back...

Found it, I was right! (*preens*):

Frodo talking to himself on Amon Hen:
"They'll be hunting for me. I wonder how long I have been away. Hours, I should think."

Is this Bilbo after he climbs down from the tree in Mirkwood Forest? From memory:

"There is no end to this accursed forest!"

(I can look up the exact quote if I'm on the right track)

That's the right quote, but it was Thorin who said it, not Bilbo.

Your turn.

No key words got preserved in this one, but the sentiment is the same:
Oh, nice!
Original quote has the same amount of words.

"Goodness me"?

"My goodness"?

But these do not have the same sentiment as "oh nice"....

None of those phrases are the correct one, but you're right in that the word "goodness" is involved.

Is it Bilbo, at the very end of The Hobbit, responding to Gandalf saying that he was just a little person in the world, saying "Thank goodness!"
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."

I don’t think that’s the same sentiment as “oh, nice!’; I guess it could be. Maybe. If spoken in a specific tone. A *very* specific tone. And not the usual tone “oh, nice” is spoken. Just saying.

I think it is in the same spirit, if nothing else. It certainly popped right into my head.

Anyway, here is the new quote:

What I do-when I know something.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
