Sadly, I am sure of it.
"Spirits in the shape of hawks and eagles flew ever to and from his halls; and their eyes could see to the depths of the seas, and pierce the hidden caverns beneath the world."
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
I was talking about general exhaustion with the topic, pictured Elrond saying “Not that bloody ring again”.
But trust you two to depress me further.

Another hint:
I said earlier that he was speculating about the Ring, but to be more accurate, he was speculating about Isildur's Bane. He didn't yet realize what Isildur's Bane was (some sort of heirloom, perhaps?).

I can't guess it's true. But it has the power and the danger it should be.
Is it this line?
Faramir: What in truth this Thing is I cannot yet guess; but some heirloom of power and peril it must be.

Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
Yes. But I can’t get translation party to work. I’ll try translating back and forth. Tomorrow.

Translationparty is still down. I'll jump in and provide a quote that I passed through several languages on translate.google.com:
If you don't get it right away, you will have to sit next to you and starve to death.
Re: The Tolkien Translation Game!
Ah, several languages. I kept trying back &
Forth Japanese which did not work well. Did not think of several languages.
