Clearly I'm overdue for a re-read of this. I was surprised when Isildur went on to say he was planning to turn it over to one of the keepers of the Three elven rings. This totally changes my view of him.I cannot use it. I dread the pain of touching it.

(You probably have seen that a new 40th Anniversary Illustrated Edition is being released this month, the first book ever to be illustrated by John Howe, Alan Lee AND Ted Naismith). I'm not big on getting multiple editions of a book that I already own, but this one might be worth it.)
