That throw isn't going to work unless the person getting thrown is cooperating by jumping into it.
In my opinion.

We finally saw The Black Panther. I was not impressed. I particularly didn't like the remote control car operated from half a planet away.

And the first thing I asked when they got through the Wakandan city's stealth shield (whatever that was called) and we saw the city for the first time... my question was, "Where is the agriculture to support a city that size if they have no trade with other countries?'

I have lots of other quibbles but those are the main two.

Pretty disappointing.

Maybe those that don't jump into it get their necks broken?

There's a YouTube video of this move being used in what appears to be a competition. There are a bunch of them that seem to be demonstrations.

It does seem plausible that an experienced fighter would roll into the move rather than die of broken neck. But the point of course is to have a cool-looking trademark move for the Widow to use against larger opponents. The most awesome use of it is Agent Carter.

Maria, the agriculture, mainly pastures, is outside the dome, which is why Wakanda appears to the outside as a third world, agrarian country. Although there are also fields inside the dome (as seen in IW) and presumably high-intensity greenhouse or hydroponics.

And maybe they have underground tunnels of hydroponics, too. There certainly wasn't enough conventional agriculture shown in that valley to support the millions that would live in a city that size.

They'd almost have to, with their siege mentality. I appreciated that the movie showed the costs of that utopia, not just the benefits.

It didn't look like a utopia to me. The king can be challenged at ANY time? Crappy system.

That one did bug me a lot. At least in most real monarchies you had to be sneaky about your intentions to murder and usurp the king.

I don't think it's any time. Eric got to challenge because he was eligible through being of royal blood and not in the country during the official challenge.

I waffled on this one but decided that it works for me.

P.S.: and now I keep thinking "the Democratic party will not challenge today."

After the last couple of days' events here the whole settling leadership by fighting to the death thing does look a bit better, but it's unlikely Wakanda could have become so successful without a peaceful means of transition of power. The rule of law and solid political institutions are behind pretty much every first-world country.

Yes—I remember what that was like.... ;(
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

To shift topic slightly - I have a question.
Hidden text.
Which Marvel heroes disintegrated at the end of Infinity War? I only saw it once, and am having trouble remembering.
And um, do we really need spoiler tags for that at this late date?

I won't see it until it comes out on Blu ray. I'd appreciate not getting spoiled.

Edit:

It's out already!
Must go get copy this evening!

edit 2:
I could have sworn I had that thing on pre-order, but Amazon says no.

Sunny, I think we should probably tag major spoilers like character deaths, at least for the movies that came out within the past year or two.

[sigh] Okay, spoiler tags added. This WAS hinted at, though, both in Age of Ultron and, IIRC, the trailer for Infinity War.

Oh, and how many comic book heroes REALLY die, Frelga? C'mon, anyone older than 10 knows better than that!

X-Men 3 and Logan, for example...

Um...[cough] https://www.slashfilm.com/avengers-wolv ... -brothers/

It may be just rumors, or wishful thinking, but I DID read in another article (which of course I now can't find  ) that Hugh Jackman himself said he would like to see Wolverine working alongside of Hulk, Ironman and Captain America.
