It's obviously not a big deal to me, since I have never seen any of them, but it seems strange to me that we don't have a thread specifically dedicated to the Marvel films (or at least comic book/superhero films). Should I see if I can separate out the posts into a separate thread?

I had considered asking for that in the past but then kinda thought the number of people on this board interested in that would be kinda too tiny to be worth it. But if you think it's a good idea I certainly wouldn't mind.

It's a number that includes me, anyhow. On the one hand, I will no longer have to restrain myself so as not to clutter this thread. On the other hand, it would be quarantined off. Your call. :D

This thread might fall off page 1 and wither if the Marvel discussions were removed, and I enjoy reading about both Marvel and non-Marvel films. (I've liked a number of Marvel films just fine, but I'm picky—I like the character-focused ones with a minimum of Giant Climactic Battles That Go On and On. I'll be catching up on the ones you recommended above, Frelga—the ones I haven't already seen.)

BTW, this is just my personal preference, not me saying what I think we should do.
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

I would be surprised if this thread fell off page one because there simply aren't that many threads that get started (or restarted) in this forum and there are plenty of non-comic book movies that get talked about without their own threads. But I'll hold off on doing the split (which frankly would require a heck of a lot of effort because the thread is so large) at least for now. Although I will say that the motivation for doing the split is to actually allow the non-comic book movies more attention because they tend to get buried beneath the comic book discussion (which I have very little interest in).

I meant... what did I mean?
Yeah, that am cool with a big bad thread. But then I don’t see much movies anyway. So am living vicariously.

If the impetus is that you don't want to see MCU/DC posts in movie thread, V, I think you should move them and leave this one for other kinds of movies. I assume they do exist.

I really don't think a split is necessary. This forum doesn't get all that much traffic. My post in this thread re. Black Panther on April 13th was the last post made in this forum for 16 DAYS!

I'm happy to leave things the way they are. People can just skip posts that don't interest them.

And you think that love is only for the lucky and the strong,
Just remember in the winter far beneath the bitter snows,
Lies the seed, that with the sun's love, in the spring becomes The Rose.

I'll leave it be, even though I still think it makes sense for the comic book movies to have their own thread rather than dominate this one.

My brother tells me that the new Avengers movie has a scene in Edinburgh. I might have to go see it after all.

Was it just that scene of Vision and Wanda walking in the street or was there more?

I saw it again last night and enjoyed it even more the second time around. I love this movie. Might be a contender for my favorite of the MCU. Definitely top 3 at least.

I thought you said vison and Wanda, and now I really want to see that movie.

Now that would be a true superhero story!
