But what about the time line? (I actually have no idea what that means but people are complaining.)
Rewatched Police Academy after probably at least thirty years. Still funny, crude but NOT* gross.
* Edited way after the fact because I wrote the opposite of what I meant

If there was anything that depressed him more than his own cynicism, it was that quite often it still wasn't as cynical as real life.

You didn't like Kingsman, Frelga? We saw it last week on bluray and thought it was great!
This week we've re-watched Galaxy Quest and Groundhog Day.
We also recently saw John Wick Chapter 2. Not as good as the first one. Oh, well.

Maria, I don't like mixing light-hearted action and graphic gore.
Finally saw the Wonder Woman. The theater was still pretty full. It was good, although I did not expect them to go all All Quiet on the Western Front. Also, did they borrow a few more plot points from the First Avenger than was strictly necessary?

You sound like my daughter.
This is where not being a regular fan of superhero movies comes in handy. I came into the movie pretty much a blank slate, so I thought it was great.

Spiderman was awesome. Much better than I expected. He's a proper teenager.
It really is a golden age for Superhero movies.

Seriously. I see a lot complaining about too many superhero movies and superhero fatigue and I totally get it (it would be really nice if there was more room in theaters for stuff that's not action or animated right now) but also, they really are putting quality into these things and not churning them out as products. They are finding so many different angles from which to tell all these tales. This year's Guardians, WW, and SM:HC are all so different from each other that it's a bit unfair to lump them all in the "just another superhero movie" box. It's a fun time for fans of these kinds of stories!

(Thanks! Photobucket killed my kitty-in-a-bag pic but I'd been wanting to switch it up for a bit now anyway. This feels more right for me right now anyway. )

Now that's the hippo I imagine when I think of you. . . .
“There, peeping among the cloud-wrack above a dark tor high up in the mountains, Sam saw a white star twinkle for a while. The beauty of it smote his heart, as he looked up out of the forsaken land, and hope returned to him. For like a shaft, clear and cold, the thought pierced him that in the end the Shadow was only a small and passing thing: there was light and high beauty for ever beyond its reach.”

Yes, the hippo is wrong, but look how sad he is! Even in his sig!
