My Fair Lady

Post by vison »

Today, whilst wallowing in misery, I watched My Fair Lady starring Rex Harrison and Audrey Hepburn. What with one thing and another, I'd never seen it before.

Is it only me or would that have been a REALLY great movie without Audrey Hepburn? She couldn't act her way out of a paper bag and her Cockney accent was so terrible it made me wince, and not in a good way.

The dork that wouldn't cast Julie Andrews got what he had coming, which is one consolation.

Audrey could act when she got to play someone like herself. In this respect she's not all that different than most movie actors. Eliza, though, was not great casting for her.
