Ok, just to clarify once again. These pics are not intended to be Tolkien artwork per se. They are illstrations for MERP, Middle Earth Role Playing and as such have to cover all the stuff Tolkien didn't, in order to allow others to game in Middle Earth. ICE really put a huge effort into this materia...

Agreed Tosh. That section in UT about the Hunt for the Ring and the Quest for Erebor were both excellent. I also love the Epilogue from HoME where Sam is reading to his children from the Red Book. I love the version that ends like this: All the children were in bed. Lights were glimmering still in H...

Interestingly enough, I think Mithril Miniatures have used some of McBrides images for inspiration. He's not credited, but their Celebrimbor figure and their Éowyn Diorama show remarkable similarity to the pics in composition and pose. http://www.mithril.ie/Boxed%20Sets/mb279/mb279f.jpg http://www.m...

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y141/truehobbit/angus003kl.jpg 1) name the artist! 2) find out what is depicted! 3) tell the real story! 1) Angus McBride 2) It's artwork for Middle Earth Roleplaying and isn't meant to depict any particular scene from the books. I think this one might be the cover ...

I'm not sure Voronwë. I often think I could survive with less of the descriptive passages of flora and fauna. When I was youger I would skip over many of the poems. I think many of the things I love most now are the ones I had least time for as a first time reader. I would certainly consider Bombadi...

Serenity and Firefly
I know there are some more Joss Whedon fans here who might be interested in this news: Serenity And Beyond Exclusive: Whedon on Firefly's future Browncoats around the world cried out in despair when, due to an underwhelming performance at the box office, Joss Whedon announced that the saga of Sereni...

From the Globe By MICHAEL POSNER Monday, January 9, 2006 Posted at 3:48 AM EST From Monday's Globe and Mail Christopher Nightingale doesn't mind admitting that when he first heard London producer Kevin Wallace discuss plans for a stage musical based on J.R.R. Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings, he thou...

What a complete tosser! The very thought of pairing Elizabeth with Mr. Collins is as appalling as I'm sure Ms Austen intended it to be. He is a genuine fool of the highest order and I'm impressed with Mr. Bennets assessment of him and playful teasing of him for the education and amusement of his dau...

It may well be that I'm working on a misconception. Certainly not on prejudice, if by that you mean a desire to hate the method whether it is valid or not. As I have explained numerous times now, my observation has been that people are not using the MTBI to observe peoples characters, but rather tha...
