All three of those links are AWESOME!! I love that there are such obsessed people in the world. They do and make the greatest things! I would LOVE to have that Bag End dollhouse. I have actually dabbled a little in minatures making dollhouse items for my daughter. It is extremely fun. When I am olde...

Well I highly doubt I am anywhere close to being someone's favorite Tolkien artist, but seeing those wonderful hobbit drawings by Lucy Wade again inspired me to draw my own hobbit picture! :D This is Violet Goodbody from a RPG that I played a long time ago (Rowanberry would remember her though :) )....

I knew she was just a normal person that was really talented, in fact I had a feeling that she was around in the Tolkien fandom somewhere. That is so cool that you met her Di. I too wonder about some people from time to time that I don't ever see anymore. I always hope that they are doing well. Here...

I'm sorry that Alan Lee and John Howe don't do anything for you. I have to say that Lee's landscapes are EXACTLY how I pictured Middle-earth, for years and years. Oh I agree that their landscapes look the way I imagined them looking in the story, they just don't stir emtion in me. At least none of ...

Not only did she draw and paint great Tolkien illustrations she also illustrated another favorite of mine, the A Song of Ice and Fire series. She does SO well w...

[Note: I moved the following posts from the thread on Frank Frazetta, since the discussion is more appropriate here - VtF] I think I might be the only Tolkien fan alive who doesn't care for Lee's or Howe's work... I'm not a big fan of Lee or Howe either yov. Their work doesn't really move me. In fa...

LOL!! Oh my those are great!! And by great I mean horrible!! The only reason I can think of to explain why there is so much horrible Tolkien artwork out there is that so many people have tried to illustrate it. I suppose a few bad apples in the mix is only to be expected. I mean these people can obv...

Trazzie sounds good to me! :) I haven't really got a nicname here yet, though Mrs. B sounds good to me as long as no one else h...

Losing my Religion

OK, so that is an entirely cliche title from a great REM song...it fits so deal with it! :P :) Most everyone on here knows that I am (was?) a Christian fundie...one of the most conservative people on the board. Now I am starting to have some serious doubts about Christianity. The one thing that spar...

OK, here are my favorite pictures that I drew inspired from Tolkien's work. I think most of you may have seen these, but there may be one or two that hasn't. ;) I haven't drawn much Tolkien lately...I'll have to remedy that. I'll show them in story order. Gandalf and Frodo discussing the Ring at Bag...

I also just got back seeing it with my eight year old daughter. Of course we have both read the book already and we both give the movie two enthusiastic thumbs up. During the scene were Lucy and Susan were mourning Aslan's death my daughter said (not too loudly, but loud enough  ), "When ...
